The Bangkok Convention Centre has joined the internationally acclaimed Green Globe benchmarking and certification programme as part of our commitment to the principles of the Pacific Asia Travel Association's CEO Challenge:  Confronting Climate Change.  From its initial conception, we at Centara Grand at CentralWorld have been committed to environmentally-sustainable development for the Convention Centre and the Hotel in the second stage.

Mr. Suthikiati Chirathivat, Chairman of the Executive Board, Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited (CENTEL), Mr. Gerd Steeb President of Centara Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Thirayuth Chirathivat, Senior Vice President – Project Management, Centara Hotels & Resorts and Mr. Michel Horn, General Manager of Central World Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre recently marked the Topping-Off Ceremony “A Crowning Glory” by pouring the final cement layer, thus celebrating the completion of the hotel's building structure for Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld on the 57 th floor.

Thirayuth Chirathivat, Suthikiati Chirathivat, Mr. Gerd Steeb and Mr. Michel Horn are pouring the cement to complete the last part of the hotel's roof top. Each cement can represent the design concept of the hotel, which are 4 elements of life including Earth, Water, Air and Fire.

Mr. Michel Horn, (back row, centre) General Manager of Central World Hotel and Bangkok Convention Centre recently led a group of “ MICE Challenge Bangkok ”, MICE Buyers from Netherlands, to inspect the new Bangkok Convention Centre and the progress of the hotel's construction, which completed  53 floors out of 55 floors. The group was welcomed by long drum (Klong Yao) and Thai Classical dance on 53 rd floor.
