In order to ensure that we perform to the best recognized industry standards we committed to join the Green Globe programme and formed our own voluntary committee of staff and executives to direct and monitor our environmental performance.
The Committee focused on the areas of Community - helping and supporting the local community, Education – educating employees and guests on the role they can play in environmental responsibility, Partnership – engaging all business partners in the campaign, Product – choosing environmentally responsible products, Eco Technology - the adopting and implementation of environmentally friendly technologies and Recycling – ensuring that wherever possible, food and materials are recycled. The Committee assumed the acronym CEPPER and by April 2008 had assisted in attaining Green Globe Bronze Benchmarked Status, as a step towards our eventual aim of achieving full Green Globe Certification.
